Looking for a Slow Cooker Beef Stew Recipe?
I was just given a crock pot for Christmas and would like to make Beef Stew, a really good one. Anyone have any great slow cooker recipes??

Answer by Home Girl
Put the following into the slow cooker.
500g diced beef, 1 chopped onion, 1 400g tin chopped tomatoes, 1 chopped red pepper, 1glass red wine. Cook for around 3 hours. Then add 150g red lentils and a finely chopped chilli (or more if you like it spicy) and cook for another 3 hours. Add stock if it gets too dry. it should be served in bowls so it should be sloppy.
Serve with hot crusty bread.

It is so simple to cook with a crock pot and you’ll find that you’ll use it alot once you try it.
You can brown some stew meat then put it in the crock pot with vegetables of your choice and put 1/4 cup water and whatever seasonings you like to use in it and let it cook for 6-8 hours and enjoy. I use mine alot and put everything in it to cook. You can put it on in the am and have a meal at dinner time and it’s so easy to use. You just need to experiment with it and you can really never go wrong.

This recipe is AWESOME! I make double batches and freeze it. We’re not mushroom fans here so we omit them. Also I add peeled and cubed sweet potato and add them 45 mins before it is done (I add the pearl onions at this point too). I’ve done it in the crock pot too 8- 10 on low 4-6 on high.

    Best Beef Stew

    Ingredients:
    2 pounds stew meat
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
    3 tablespoons olive oil
    4 medium carrots, sliced
    1 large onion, diced
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    2 (14 1/2-ounce) cans chicken broth
    1 cup Cabernet Sauvignon
    1 cup water
    1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
    3 sprigs fresh rosemary
    2 medium russet potatoes, cubed
    2 handfuls fresh green beans

    Instructions:
    1. Saute onions in olive oil in a 6-quart pot over medium heat until soft.
    2. Add stew meat, flour, salt, and pepper. Brown the meat on all sides.
    3. Add carrots, chicken broth, wine, water, tomatoes, and rosemary. Bring to a boil.
    4. Reduce heat and simmer for 50 minutes on low heat. Stir occasionally.
    5. Add potatoes. Cover and cook another 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.
    6. Add beans and cook for 5 minutes longer.

To make in the crock pot, saute onions, add all the ingredients at once into the crock pot, and cook on low for 7-9 hours or on high for around 4 hours.

Crock Pot Roast (yummy and so easy)

    3/4 cup water

    Instructions:
    1. Place roast in crock pot
    2. Sprinkle dry onion soup mix over the roast.
    3. Add cream of mushroom soup, wine, and water.
    4. Cook for 3-4 hours on high or 8-9 hours on low.
