if you have any tough cuts from the game like a shoulder or haunch then try just seasoning a piece and maybe adding a can of beer or some other liquid. Cook it low for a long time and it should be fall apart tender and juicy.

I do this with pork shoulder to make either carnitas or pulled pork bbq. all that changes is the sauce or seasoning at the end.

You need to try crock pot venison BBQ. You’ll LOVE it.

3 lbs. boneless venison, cut in 1-inch cubes
    1 cup chopped onion
    1/2 cup chopped green pepper
    1 cup water
2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon or equivalent base
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
    1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. thyme
    1 tbsp. paprika
    2 tbsp. brown sugar
    Buns

    PREPARATION:
Trim fat from meat and place meat in Crockpot or slow cooker. Add onion, green pepper and 1 cup water. Add beef bouillon. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours, until meat is well done and shreds easily with a fork. Let water cook down to about 1/2 cup of liquid. Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix. Cover and cook on LOW for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Meat should be pretty well shredded by the end of the cooking time.
Spoon over toasted bun halves to serve.

Crock Pot cooking intensifies flavor, therefore I personally wouldn’t prepare game meats that way. The only exception might be bar-b-que (sloppy joe style). Do like you would with ground beef, adding the sauce, onions, etc. Adding brown sugar and ketchup will mellow the flavor a bit. Serve in hamburger rolls with a side of cole slaw, pickles and chips. My favorite Crock Pot recipe is for Manhattan Clam Chowder. It consists of the usual – onion, celery, carrots, potatoes ( all small dice) , a can of diced tomatoes, worchester sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper,a bay leaf, dried thyme, about 2 or 3 cups of water or preferrably bottled clam broth and several cans of diced (not minced) clams with their juice. Cook on low for up to 8 hours or high for 4 to 5, covered. Some fresh bread or crackers, and you’re set!

i do a crock pot chicken using fresh herbs and a little chicken stock. i throw the whole chicken in in the morning and when i get home i add a little butter and curry to it for a yummy sauce. i also throw in little potatoes and carrots. the bonus is after i take the chicken out the sauce and leftover chicken become a great soup for the next days lunch.

I also do a roast beef with beer and french onion soup mix. after the roast is cooked i let it rest before slicing it thin and putting half to the side, the next day i make philly cheese steak type sandwiches and use the left over au jus for dipping.
