I have to admit that my crock pot is a lifesaver, when you can start dinner in the morning and have it done with no problem by 6:30 p.m., how can you go wrong? But I had a problem finding new recipies that are family friendly. I have no problem making beef stew, chili, corned beef, you know the usual slow cooker fare. But that gets old.
That is when I picked up Betty Crocker’s More Slow Cooker Recipies, and I am very happy I did. Not only do they have new recipies but old recipies with a new spin. And my favorite feature of this book, are all new recipies you can make from the leftovers, you make in your crock pot. It also has all the nutritional info, recommended side dishes, and serving suggestions on each page.
Some of the best recipies in this book include, Smokey Bacon & Gruyere Dip, Fisherman’s Warf Seafood Stew, Hunter’s Style Pork Roast and many more! If you love to cook with a crock pot and are looking for some great new dishes, give this book a try.

This book had many of the same recipes as the first Betty Crocker Slow Cooker cookbook–even the same pictures! The recipes are OK, but many are dull and made with prepackaged items. I’d rather know what’s in my food, thank you. Not impressed. The new Southern Living Slow Cooker cookbook was a million times better.

I have used three recipes from the book already. They are simple and there are tips for every recipe so you can make changes if you desire. There are serving suggestions and many colored pictures of the finished product. I will be using this recipe book for many years.
I love the hardcover with the spiral pages.

Easy and fast recipes for any working Mom or when you want to “set it and forget it” types of meal. The pictures of the dishes throughout the book made it more appealing for me. I found this book much better edition than the first Betty Crocker Slow Cooker book.
